PSR Associates, Inc. announced today that it will be introducing a new software tool that bridges the gap between JIRA and CA's Clarity PPM, a significant enhancement in the product development value chain. JIRA integration for CA Clarity is an enterprise-class integration solution that enables companies to harness the full potential of Atlassian's JIRA and CA Clarity by synchronizing project and work log information between the two tools. PSR is making the announcement today in conjunction with CA World in Las Vegas and the product will be widely available by late summer 2010.
"The JIRA Connector for CA Clarity is designed to appreciably enhance the efficiency of the product development process," said David Brown, CTO of PSR Associates, Inc. "Many organizations are now realizing the benefits of managing their IT and application development projects as a balanced portfolio through PPM strategies, but this approach is sometimes at odds with how development teams are organized and managed. This product allows developers and Program Management people to work seamlessly and integrate their work in an automated fashion to both increase speed to market and minimize the opportunities for costly errors."
The JIRA Connector for CA Clarity seamlessly integrates the work of Program Managers and development by unifying data between development and program management views of the entire Project Portfolio. It allows development teams to use advanced development planning methodologies--like Agile and Scrum--while improving oversight and transparency for the Program Management Office. Further, it enables Program Management to provide valuable metrics to the organization while reducing the time technical teams spend on reporting.
"This product provides significant benefits for a very modest investment," said Brown. "It lets development do what development does best and allows them to work in whatever environment best suits their needs, without having to input work task data manually into multiple systems. But it provides Program Management with the real-time information necessary to monitor performance throughout the full lifecycle development process. Of equal importance," said Brown, "is that it's as valuable to for mid-sized operating in a single location, as it is to globally distributed teams working in a Fortune 500 environment."
